TerraGlyph Engine for ScummVM

The TerraGlyph Engine for ScummVM brings a family of early-2000s children’s adventure games back to modern computers. These are The Learning Company’s Scooby-Doo! CD-ROM adventures, developed by TerraGlyph Interactive Studios. The games were built for the Windows PCs of 2000–2003. The engine reimplements them inside ScummVM, the open-source player that already preserves hundreds of classic adventure games.

Target games

  • Scooby-Doo! Showdown in Ghost Town (2000), the primary target
  • Scooby-Doo! Phantom of the Knight (2001)
  • Scooby-Doo! Jinx at the Sphinx (2001)
  • Scooby-Doo! Case File #1: The Glowing Bug Man (2002) and Case File #2: The Scary Stone Dragon (2003), if they share the engine

You need your own original game discs. The engine contains no game data.

Where it stands

Phase 1, format research. The graphics archive’s index is mapped, and the audio archives’ headers are confirmed. The video files are Bink, which ScummVM already decodes. Next is decoding the image data and extracting the first picture.

Follow the work

The research, file-format specs and tools are public.
